Now Available: Three US History Graphic Novels by Wayne Vansant

GDC is proud to offer publishing rights to three non-fiction graphic novels on US History by acclaimed author Wayne Vansant. The graphic novels are The War In Korea, an extensive history of the American involvement in the war on the Korean Peninsula from 1950-1953, Blockade, the Civil War history of the Union Navy’s war against the Confederacy on rivers and high seas, and The Graphic Novel History of the Great Civil War Battles, a compilation of six comic books telling the stories of major battles of the Civil War. The comic books, published by the Heritage Collection, were originally sold by the National Parks Service in the gift shops of the actual battlefields!

These titles were originally published in the 1990s and have long been out of print. Vansant has received considerable acclaim from educators and librarians for his non-fiction and fiction graphic novels on military history. From 2012 – 2016, Vansant authored a series of graphic novels for Zenith Press, with titles including Normandy, The Battle of the Bulge, The Red Baron, and Grant vs Lee, which are still in print today. Vansant’s work in fiction extends back to his long run as the primary artist on Marvel’s groundbreaking Vietnam war series, The ‘Nam, and includes his adaptations of classic novels The Red Badge of Courage and All Quiet on the Western Front and his own creations like the award-winning Katusha, Girl Soldier of the Great Patriotic War, and Battron.
