Free Comic Book Day enjoyed around the world on May 3

On May 3 comic book shops around the world held their annual “Free Comic Book Day” promotion.  Publishers and retailers distributed more than 4.3 million free comic books to lucky shoppers.  Major American publishers Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Fantagraphics, IDW, and Image were among the publishers that contributed more than 60 different titles handed out for free with the goal of creating new comic book readers. Grand Design Communications clients Action Lab Entertainment released two Free Comic Book Day comics, one featuring all-ages titles SKYWARD and MIDNIGHT TIGER (click to download a free preview pdf) another featuring Action Lab Danger Zone mature-readers titles ZOMBIE TRAMP and EHMM THEORY (click to download a free preview pdf). To mark the occasion, Zenith Press made a free digital preview of their Zenith Graphic Histories series available.  Grand Design client Wayne Vansant wrote and illustrated six of the seven books spotlighted, including the two new volumes to be published in 2014, THE RED BARON and THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE.
